Terms & Conditions
These terms govern your use of Genielingua, an online Spanish course operated by Patricia Martinez Garcia, a sole trader trading as “Genielingua” (“we”, “us”, “our”). Our postal address is Suite 70128, Unit F, Winston Business Park, Churchill Way, Sheffield, South Yorkshire S35 2PS. By creating an account or buying a plan, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
The service
Genielingua provides access to a six-module Spanish course, including on-screen lessons, downloadable audio companions, end-of-module assessments, and the “Ask Genie” assistant. Some content is free; full access requires a paid plan. We may improve, change or add to the course over time.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity on your account. Don't share your login or let others use it. Tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed without permission.
Plans, prices and payment
- Individual plans: Monthly (£9.99/month), Annual (£69/year) and Lifetime (£149 one-off). School plans: £299 per year, or £799 for three years.
- Prices are in GBP. We are not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is added.
- Payments are taken securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
- Monthly and annual plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel or manage your subscription at any time from your dashboard (“Manage subscription”); cancellation stops future renewals and your access continues until the end of the paid period.
Your right to cancel (cooling-off) and refunds
As a consumer buying at a distance, you normally have a 14-day right to cancel. However, Genielingua is digital content supplied immediately. When you buy, you ask for immediate access and acknowledge that you therefore lose the 14-day right to cancel once access begins. You confirm this at checkout.
This does not affect your legal rights if the content is faulty, not as described, or not provided with reasonable skill — in those cases you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If something's wrong, contact us via our contact form and we'll put it right.
Acceptable use
The course content (lessons, audio, text and design) is owned by us and our contributors and is protected by copyright. You may use it for your own learning (or, for schools, your pupils' learning). You must not copy, share, resell, publicly perform or redistribute the content, or attempt to download or extract it other than through the features we provide.
Schools
A school plan lets a school create individual logins for its pupils. The school is responsible for: deciding to use Genielingua with its pupils; obtaining any permissions or giving any notices required (for example to parents); how it distributes logins; and its teachers' and pupils' use of the service. Each plan covers one school. Multi-school/MAT arrangements are by separate agreement.
“Ask Genie” assistant
Ask Genie is an AI assistant to help with your learning. It can occasionally be wrong or incomplete, and it isn't a substitute for professional advice. Please use your judgement.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the service available but can't guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable or that arise from circumstances outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes your statutory rights as a consumer, or any liability that can't be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date shows when they last changed; significant changes will be notified where appropriate.
